About Us

A Place of Restoration

Havenwood was birthed in 2017 when our family moved to the rolling hills of Jamberoo with a simple dream—to create a slower, more meaningful life on the land. We wanted a safe haven to build an inter-generational home base for the many children birthed and chosen, we call our own. We planted thousands of native trees and shrubs, built a small roadside farm stall, and began selling handmade goods, homegrown produce and vintage treasures.

What started as a way to help fund the farm quickly became something much more. Meeting visitors each weekend sparked a passion for creating a place where people could slow down, reconnect with nature, and leave feeling refreshed and inspired. To highlight that living connected to family can be a beautiful choice, counter cultural to today's drive for independence.

Paving the Way

Our dream of opening a farmgate destination wasn't welcomed at the time, with planning restrictions preventing us from creating the tourism experience we had envisioned.

Rather than giving up, we looked for another path. A tiny home we had built for our daughter and her family inspired a new direction. At the time, we had no idea that tiny homes would soon become a growing movement across Australia—it simply felt like the next step on our journey.

Twists & Turns

Only months after launching our tiny home business, the world changed. COVID brought lockdowns, cancelled events, silent phones and enormous uncertainty.

As orders slowly came in, our small backyard workshop quickly outgrew its space. Council required us to relocate, so during the height of the pandemic we found a factory, moved within days, and began growing our team of skilled tradespeople.

With exhibitions cancelled, we turned to social media—a platform we knew very little about—to share our homes and our belief that simpler, more affordable living could make a real difference for Australian families.

Choosing Faith Over Fear

There were many moments when the future seemed uncertain. Rising costs, empty order books and the pressures of running a young business tested us in every way.

One afternoon, while mowing what we affectionately called our "Field of Dreams," we reached a point of surrender. We felt we had nothing left to give. The very next day, the phone started ringing—and it hasn't stopped since. That moment became a powerful reminder that sometimes the biggest breakthroughs come after taking the greatest leap of faith.

Field of Dreams

As Havenwood continued to grow, another dream quietly took root. Both of us were drawn to an overgrown, unused site nearby, imagining what it could one day become.

After months of dead ends, an unexpected meeting at the Sydney Home Show placed us beside the very people who had the lease on the property. Within weeks, the opportunity we'd been hoping for became reality. We moved onto the site, expanded our facilities, grew our team, and continued building homes that help people live more intentionally.

More Than Tiny Homes

Today, Havenwood is entering its next chapter.

What began as a roadside farm stall has evolved into an sustainable tourism destination where visitors can stay, explore, learn and reconnect with nature. Through eco-friendly accommodation, workshops, farm experiences and beautiful natural spaces, we hope to inspire people to embrace a more authentic pace of life and discover new possibilities for living well.

Whether you're visiting for a peaceful escape, exploring alternative housing, or simply looking for inspiration, our vision remains the same as it was in 2017—to create a place where people are inspired, connected and full of hope for the future.
